Documentary wedding photography
Wedding days as they actually happen
2026 dates are open for April to September.
Edinburgh and across Scotland
A photographer who stays out of the way
I photograph weddings the way they happen: unposed, in the weather of the day, from the quiet half hour before the ceremony to the last people standing. Ten years of wedding days, mostly in Edinburgh, Fife, the Borders and up the east coast.
I work alone, on long lenses, mostly in the room rather than at the front of it. There is a short list of family groups I will always ask for, and after that the day is yours to have. Nobody stands in a line for me.
Prices include travel within 50 miles of Edinburgh.
I answer every enquiry myself, usually within two days.

How it works
Four steps between now and the photographs
- OneYou write to meThe date, the place if you have one, and roughly how many people. I will tell you honestly whether I am free.
- TwoWe talk it throughA call or a coffee in Edinburgh. You get a written quote with the travel already worked out, nothing hidden.
- ThreeThe day itselfI arrive an hour before the ceremony and stay until the dancing has properly started. No shot list read aloud.
- FourPhotographs, in about six weeksA private gallery to share with guests, then the album, made by hand in Edinburgh and posted to you.
